In 2009 Glover Recreation hosted two Moonlight Snowshoe and Ski events, at the Glover Community School. The first was on a frosty but beautiful February evening and the the second was held on a mild March night. In March the days were already getting longer, so skiers and snowshoers were able to see the sun go down as the full moon came up. The Moonlight Snowshoe and Ski events are completely free and open to the community. Cross country skis, poles, and snowshoes are available at no charge for anyone who does not have their own. Torch lit trails are located behind Glover School in the field and wooded areas. Hot cocoa, hot cider, and snacks were available inside, and the school’s gymnasium was open for skiers who needed a little warm-up between trail runs.
